Vinay Visits The New School to Watch a Talk on Food, Justice, and Restaurants

The panel disussion centered around issues regarding Manhattan restaurant employees' often below minimum wage level earnings and (lack of) benefits, labor practices, and illegal immigrants working at these eateries.

The discussion was sponsored by the Food Studies program of the New School and ROC-NYC the Restaurant Opportunities Center of NY.

Approximately 30 people attended and the talk was filmed.

***All illegals who work in Manhattan's restaurant industry must
be deported immediately. In additon, I have signed several petitions requesting that the national minimum wage should be raised to $10 or higher.   -Vinay
